A custom DVD, scripted by the artist, stops the film from progressing through its chapters chronologically. Instead, once Murray's character wakes up on Groundhog Day for the second time, the script randomly chooses a scene in which he is trapped in time for a full day. Because the script never allows for the film to reach its conclusion, Murray's character becomes seamlessly trapped within Groundhog Day forever, creating a more realistic depiction of the horror that he experiences.
